1981

With the help and support of fellow Christians, Rev. Lucien Duperier founded Ministries of Aides International, Inc.

MAII established the main campus of College Mixte Siloé in the community of Port-Margot with 316 students in attendance. Initially, College Mixte Siloé was only a pre-primary and primary school.

1984

MAII expanded College Mixte Siloé by opening two new campuses in the communities of Bas-Limbé and Beaulieu with over 200 students in attendance in both schools.

2000

MAII built two more campuses in the communities of Novion and Chouchou Bay to help meet the high demand of North Haiti due to rapid population growth. Over 300 students attended College Mixte Siloé at each location.

That year, MAII was also faced with a much greater challenge. What should we do with the growing number of orphaned children in Haiti? MAII decided to establish the CEDEP Orphanage in Port-Margot to provide shelter, clothes, food and education to the young children who were orphaned with no place to call home. The orphanage provides shelter to over 250 children in need.

2002

Recognizing that older children were not being served, MAII expanded the College Mixte Siloé school system to incorporate a secondary school. The addition of the secondary school provides educational opportunities for over 300 students each year in several locations in northern Haiti.

2004

MAII opened the first Computer Learning Center at College Mixte Siloé at the Port-Margot campus to help expose students and young adults to technology.

MAII sent its first 45ft relief container to Haiti. The container contained food, medicine, first aid kits, blankets, and clothing. Rev. Lucien and his team traveled to Haiti to receive the container and to distribute the supplies to the victims of Hurricane Jeanne.

2006

Addressing the need for professional and vocational training of the people of Haiti, MAII established the Vocational Career Center in Port-Margot to provide educational and vocational training programs to adults in the North Department of Haiti. Courses are available in tailoring, auto-mechanic, photography, languages, and computer technology.

2008

MAII’s founder Rev. Lucien Duperier and his team went to Haiti to assist the survivors of tropical storms Fay, Gustav, Hanna and Ike. They distributed shelter, food, clothes, and first aid kits.

2010

In February, MAII sent Rev. Lucien Duperier and a team of 15 volunteer physicians, nurses and other medical staff to Haiti to provide medical assistance after the catastrophic earthquake on January 12, 2010, which caused an estimated 316,000 deaths.   MAII operated 3 mobile health clinics to help the victims of the earthquake. In addition, the volunteers provided cooked food and helped rescue people more than 25,000 people trapped under the rubble.

In April, MAII sent another team to continue these efforts.

In October, due to the cholera outbreak, Rev. Lucien Duperier traveled to Haiti to distribute first aid kits and to provide education to the citizens on cholera prevention.

In September, MAII was presented a partner recognition plaque from the U.S. Census Bureau to recognize and thank MAII and its staff for participation, cooperation and assistance with the 2010 census.

2011

In August, MAII sent another team to Haiti to provide medical help to children in Fauché and Port-Margot. The team included expert Dr. Vidya Georges.

In October, MAII established two additional school campuses in the towns of Baziellant and Robert. The schools opened with attendance of 200 and 280 students respectively.
